4th grade scholars had the opportunity to visit Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa. Ranger Caro taught them about how for many years the Santa Monica Mountains sustained the Chumash culture. They learned about some of the plants and animals that played a role in the Chumash way of life. They even learned to make abalone shell necklaces!
